Live music club MARMALADE hits Helsinki in design hotel Klaus K’s lounge club
Helsinki’s live music assortment has gotten once again wider since the internationally recognized design hotel Klaus K launched Ahjo’s Marmalade club, a new live music concept for music and club lovers. The mastermind behind it all, Jan Simons, musician and producer based in Stockholm, has already for a long time co-operated with the most famous pop and jazz musicians from all around the world. Now through the new Marmalade club he will concentrate on famous and rising stars, quality music, sounds suitable for Ahjo’s club environ-ment and visiting foreign artists.
Ahjo is a stylish combination of a club, lounge and bar on Bulevardi street, connected to the first design hotel in Finland called Klaus K. This intimate design club attracts trendy urbanized people that are looking for a classy atmosphere and good music. Ahjo has room for 350 customers and the age limit 24 years.
During this spring, we’ll see on stage, among others, the British trumpet legend Henry Lowther, who already performed in 1969 at the Woodstock festival, and has thereafter performed with well known artists like Charlie Watts, Spice Girls, Van Morrison, Kenny Wheelerin and Billy Cobham. Another treat is the Swedish guitarist Max Schultz who has collaborated with names like Herbie Hancock and Tommy Körberg. Other performers of the Marmalade club are e.g. Teemu Viinikainen, Redrama, the organist legend Jukka Gustavson, last year’s Pori Jazz’s artist of the year, 21-year-old vibraphonist Panu Savolainen.
