In Restaurant NJK’s gardens, varieties of herbs developed for archipelago lifestyles provide fresh ingredients and garnishes for a wide range of dishes. Diners are welcome to stroll through the restaurant’s urban garden, built in cooperation with garden specialist Kekkilä, and, of course, taste our self-grown herbs in a special five course menu.

Restaurant NJK favors herbs used in archipelago cooking, growing them on tiny Valkosaari Island in gardens just a few steps from the restaurant kitchen. NJK understands the importance of pure food and stresses environmental friendly policies.

The heart of the herb garden is a modern greenhouse, created by garden specialist Kekkilä. The greenhouse allows growing of delicate herbs such as basil, while less sensitive varieties are cultivated under the open sky in Kekkilä grow-boxes.

The five course summer menu at NJK: available from 13th of June 2011. Regular business hours are 5pm to 12am Monday through Saturday (other times by reservation). The regular à la carte menu is usually available.
