Look at the city from the treetop!

Next to the wellknown restaurant Juuri there is, since the beginning of June, a winebar called Latva (in English: treetop).
The speciality of restaurant Juuri is a delicacy called Sapas. Sapas is an authentically Finnish hors d’oeuvre, handmade according to Finnish culinary traditions. In our kitchen we transform Finnish gifts of nature in an innovative manner to suit modern tastes. Shortly sapas can be described as the Finnish version of Spanish tapas fingerfood.
The idea to open a winebar with Finnish small brewery beers and sapas had long been in the thoughts of the owners of restaurant Juuri, and when a vacant space came up on the same street as their restaurant and food store, they thought the time was right for the launch of their winebar.
Latva offers besides quality beers and sapas even a selection of high quality champagne and chocolates. Soon the wellknown Stadin Panimo beer will be available from Latva’s the beer tap.
The sapas menu has yet not been translated into English but the bartenders at Latva are happy to describe the alternatives in English.
We have been to Juuri almost every time we have been in Helsinki. We will look for the new place – thank you.
