The second restaurant day (in Finnish: ravintolapäivä) brings pop up restaurants of town residents to Helsinki on the 21st of August! No bureaucracy, but freedom to establish any kind of restaurant, café or bar for a day – your imagination is the only limit! The first restaurant day in May 2011 became a huge success with more than 50 pop up restaurants. Right now the event on Sunday has already gathered more applications than that so we are sure to have a wonderful event even this time! The restaurant day has already over 10 000 likes on Facebook which shows that the event has really inspired people to start cooking! Last time there were e.g. shopping cart barbeque, dinners at home and bicycle bars – let’s see what the local people of Helsinki come up with this year!
