The first fine grill has arrived in Helsinki!
The former food restaurant and lounge club Mecca has changed its owner during the summer and has now had its grand opening as restaurant Glöd bar & grill. As the name says (Glöd stands for glow in Swedish) the restaurant’s food concept circulates around the restaurant’s coal grill. The club tradition will also continue on the same premises. Gallerist Elena Kadieff is responsible for the exciting décor of the restaurant.
According to the owner Jan Åkerström there has been a clear demand in Helsinki for a concept where a fine grill is combined with a club.
The menu of Glöd bar & grill consists of diverse combinations of ingredients suited for barbequing. The idea is that there are many choices, for many diets, from which anyone can choose the best ones. There are small dishes for those who just want to have a quick bite but also larger portions for those interesting in dining with three courses. Right now lobsters, steaks and deserts have been the most popular dishes.
Retro elements are evident in the interesting interior. It represents the eclectic style where furnishing styles from a mixture of sources and time periods are blended in order to create a special ensemble.
