The popular autumnal blue mussels are here – fresh from central Europe!
Blue mussels are particularly popular in the fall even though they are available throughout the year. Freshly flown in from central Europe the mussels are served now at restaurant Kellarikrouvi from the beginning of September to the end of October. Mussels are social eating at its best!
The special menu’s theme is “a kettle of blue mussels” prepared with four different flavors and in portions of one kilogram or 500 grams. A kilogramme of blue mussels is 26, 20€ and ½ kilogram is 19, 80€.
The traditional dish Moules Mariniere (mussels according to the sailor’s wife) has got other traditional tastes alongside with it, e.g. bouillabaisse and lobster broths and the oriental curry cream sauce. The taste of the blue mussels is varied by using different broths.
Moules Mariniere is especially in the French speaking Europe a well known classic, which has a white wine broth flavored with parsley, garlic and spring onion.
If you are not that familiar with opening mussels with clam knives, the staff at restaurant Kellarikrouvi guides you through it. Restaurant Kellarikrouvi recommends as dinner beverage the Spanish wine Aura Verdejo.
Blue mussels are served at restaurant Kellarikrouvi 1.9-30.10.2011, working days between 3-11 pm, Saturdays throughout the day.
