Find fantasy and old-fashioned Christmas at Seurasaari
The traditional Seurasaari Christmas Path, a free Christmas event for children and families takes place on Sunday, December 11, from 1pm to 5 pm.
The Christmas Path is full of things to see and do, and to be found! Christmas trees brought to the island await decorations made by children themselves and elves hidden along the walk await to be found.
This year’s path includes singing and games, face painting, sleigh rides, luminaries, a light show, and the opportunity to cook sweet buns over a campfire.
Children also get the chance to meet Father Christmas and his elves together with Old Lady Christmas who listen to the children’s gift wishes.
Seurasaari’s restaurant and kiosk, as well as an open fire for sausage cooking, will serve visitors of the Christmas Path. Children are offered Christmas porridge and forest animals are handing out gingerbread cookies and cinnamon buns along the path. Possibility for eating packed lunch is also available.
So bundle up, leave the car at home to avoid congestion and head to Seurasaari that will be filled with Christmas spirit. Don’t forget to bring along a flashlight so you’ll be able to see all the woodland wonders as darkness falls as well as spoons and bowls for the Christmas porridge.
From noon onward, bus 24 will go from Erottaja to Seurasaari on an accelerated schedule. Other ways of reaching the event is by using the Helsinki bus lines 14, 14B, 18, 52 and 58 and tram lines 4 and 4T.
