World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 invites proposals
Proposals for programme items are now accepted by World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 and can be submitted through February 11, 2011.
Proposals can be made by anybody – an individual, team, corporation or other organization – and they can be for locally or internationally organized projects. Proposals should be submitted online using the form found from this Website.
World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 approaches design from a wide perspective. The organizers seek proposals that introduce new ways in which citizens actively participate in and impact the development of their living environments. The organizers seek solutions that advance the quality of life and general happiness. Projects should also address how to utilize design in novel ways to promote economic growth.
The programme will be compiled by International Design Foundation. The Foundation is not the primary source of funding for projects and welcomes projects that can fully fund themselves. In some cases the Foundation can provide financial support for projects. All proposals will be reviewed by the staff of International Design Foundation and other specialists.
Agreements on projects can be made before the end of the proposal submission period. Information on further review of proposals, acceptance of projects for implementation, and rejection of proposals will be released during the spring of 2011.
