This spring restaurant Ilmatar offers yet again a combination of fascinating fashion and delicious Finnish food that pamper bons vivants’ senses.

Ilmatar’s popular Best of Finland brunch is transformed into a set for fashion brunches on four Saturdays, starting from the 14th of April. The brunch is served between 12pm-3pm. The fashion brunches still remaining showcase the pieces of designers Mirkka Metsola and Mert Otsamo. The brunch costs €38/person.

Mirkka Metsola is known as one of the designers at the Kallio based Fem boutique and collective. Metsola’s designs draw their strength from subcultures, music, cartoons, photographic art and movies. She has participated in the Finnish version of the widely famous TV show Project Runway called Muodin huipulle.

According to Klaus K, Metsola’s fashion brunch is all about contrasts created with colors and light. In co-operation with the French Valrhona chocolate brand, Metsola has designed a tasty menu for the brunch. Brunch eaters are also surprised with stylish goodie bags.

Even half Turkish designer Mert Otsamo participated in the same well known TV show as Metsola. Otsamo’s style is sculpture like and dramatic as the designer likes to use strong shapes in his pieces. Video games and cartoons were his first inspiration sources, but lately the designer has used personal difficult experiences as his driving force for design work.
