Paasitorni gained environmental certification
Helsinki Congress Paasitorni gained environmental certification under ISO 14001 in April. Behind this progress is the extension of Paasitorni’s quality system into a management system which also incorporates an environmental management system. Already in 1999 Paasitorni was the first Finnish congress centre to gain quality accreditation ISO 9001. ISO 14001 issued by Inspecta is a strong signal of a responsible approach to the environment. The certificate provides tools for operating in line with sustainable development and for on-going improvements, helping the venue to turn environmental awareness from words into action.
The company’s management has signed up to continuing monitoring and development of environmental issues under the ISO 14001 standard and current legislation. Aim is to reduce the venue’s burden on the environment. Taking the environment into account is part of the daily routine of all the staff at the Helsinki Congress Paasitorni. More information on the environmental policy of Paasitorni can be obtained on their website.
Helsinki Congress Paasitorni also rose to the top spot in the Helsinki metropolitan region in the Finnish national Congress Venue Survey conducted by research company TNS Gallup in autumn 2011.
