Capture the Christmas spirit in Helsinki
The weeks leading up to Christmas and the holidays are a very special time in Helsinki.
Aleksanterinkatu – the city’s main shopping thoroughfare – is transformed into the city’s official Christmas Street from 21 November onwards. Families with children can visit the Stable Elf’s Christmas Path at the Helsinki Zoo on Korkeasaari Island, the Suomenlinna Christmas fair, and the Dance Theatre Hurjaruuth’s popular Winter Circus.
Seasonal gifts can be found at the St. Thomas Christmas Market along the Esplanade Park from 7 to 22 December and the Old Student House Christmas Fair at Vanha Ylioppilastalo from 12 to 22 December.
