Scooters in Helsinki
Welcome to admire scooters on Tuesdays at The Finnish Scooterclub’s meetings. Meetings are held every Tuesday at Cafe Regatta at 17.30. The address is Merikannontie 10.
The meetings start as soon as snow has melt in spring and continue until snow is back again. This tribe is not scared of cold or rainy weather. More than 1/3 of the club members drives a Vespa.
Scooters are getting more popular in Finland. The southern part of the country is warm, so there is more time to drive a scooter during the year. The number of lady drivers has increased in recent years. “Take your helmet with you and join the club”, welcomes Merja Blomqvist, who is an active at the club.
There are a few special vehicles present at the time. There is one 3-wheeled scooter, one electric scooter and an iScooter, which is tuned to match the Apple product family. The iScooter is equipped with iDock, iCharger and optional iSpeakers.
The scooterists drive short and long tours. One upcoming tour is to the Sauna and Run meeting, which is about 180 kilometers from Helsinki.
The scooterists come up with an idea to get ice-creams in another café. They buckle up, start the engines and head to the next location. Next Tuesday they will be here again.
