Failed Girl Concept Store, sustainable lifestyle souvenirs
Epäonnistunut tyttö, The Failed Girl, is a Concept Store that offers souvenirs, clothing, bags and other products made from recycled materials. Ilona Jaakkola designs and her mother Liisa Jaakkola manages the store. The girls behind the Failed Girl don’t want tobe in the spotlight themselves but rather let the products speak on their behalf.
And the products speak all right: all the designs are ethically produced. They use Fairtrade cotton and postcards are printed on non-toxic and recycled material. Webshop ordres are wrapped in recycled packaging materials and delivered by bicycle messengers instead of cars.
The store first opened as a pop-up store in 2005. Now it is has found its permanent premises just a few steps away from Hakaniemi Market Square. A small selection of Failed Girl products is available in Eco Market Ruohonjuuri in Helsinki.
