Try out winter running in summer weather at a new indoor running event

The Fair Run is a new indoor running event, to be organised on Saturday 29 December at the Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre. Its route is located entirely indoors, beyond the reach of ice and snow.

The length of the Fair Run is 10 kilometres. This race will be run in warm and dry indoor conditions, on a course slightly more than three kilometres long. Its terrain will challenge even the most experienced runner! The route passes through seven exhibition halls with ramps, tight bends and pulse-raising steps along the way.

Five groups will run the race, of which the first will set off at ten in the morning and the remaining four at one-hour-intervals thereafter. A DJ will create a fast-paced atmosphere to the event, with background music.

The world’s first Fair Run provides the opportunity to enjoy some exercise before the New Year, as well as doing some good in the Christmas spirit: in support of exercise among young people, the organiser will donate one euro to the Young Finland Association for each participant.

The event is aimed at all running enthusiasts. The participation fee is EUR 38 and registration is open until December 26, 2012 at www.finnexpo.fi/messujuoksu.
