The so called green heart of the city, the Töölönlahti Park area next to the Central Railway Station, has recently received many interesting gastronomic additions: everything from Australian to Mexican eateries. Read my earlier blog post about the area here. This time I was invited to try out the Mexican restaurant in the area – Eatos Mexican Diner. Here are three reasons why I think you should visit it as well.
During my visit, I got to try samples of Eatos’ versatile menu. I thought the dishes were of great size, but I heard that usually they are even more plentiful. So you won’t leave this eatery feeling still hungry. My personal favorites were the filled corn tortilla with chicken, quesadilla that is, and the desserts: churros con chocolate & helado de vanilla.
Finland’s biggest newspaper, Helsingin Sanomat, has also praised the tacos of Eatos because the tortillas are very fresh and the meat juicy & tasty.
When I visited Eatos, I was actually asked five times if everything was fine with the food. I was paid attention to from the moment I entered the restaurant, and the service was hearty throughout the dinner.
As I’ve written before, in my opinion, railways, like harbors, are great meeting points. My mind is immediately at ease when there is a window for people-watching. Besides being located in the vicinity of the Central Railway Station, this eatery is close to a new and very central local park area as well. The new Töölönlahti Park will be inaugurated in June on Helsinki’s birthday – Helsinki Day.
Are you already familiar with this new park area in Helsinki?
