The most popular restaurant of Eastern Helsinki is Treffi Pub & Bistro, which is located right next to Herttoniemi metro station. A few months ago I was having a try at the à la carte menu at Treffi and it turned out to be a delicious culinary experience. So this time I decided to have their Sunday brunch that has been served since March 2015.
The brunch has a different theme every week. Would you like to enjoy Italian or Middle-Eastern flavors? Or how about a French country brunch or robust street food? Every Sunday approximately two hundred people are having brunch at Treffi. For upcoming Valentine’s Day, the brunch was fully booked already in early January, before the brunch menu was even published! So if you feel like enjoying Sunday brunch in Herttoniemi, make sure to book your table in time!
Last sunday Treffi was serving an Italian brunch. The menu included focaccia bread with different kinds of spreads, oxtail soup, antipasto vegetables, rocket and fennel salad, salmon pastrami and classical vitello tonnato for starters and Angus beef, pesto marinated potatoes and Marsala sauce as main course.
Unlike most breakfast oriented brunches, Treffi is changing themes weekly bringing a nice variation to the brunch selection of Helsinki. I’ve also had Treffi’s heavier street food brunch and the more sophisticated Independence Day brunch, which both worked out nicely. In case you have a sweet tooth, please note that the selection and variety of desserts is fairly small.
Treffi also has a private cabinet for 12-18 people. The restaurant is definitely a place for celebrating with friends and family. I highly recommend the brunch and especially the top of the notch à la carte menu. See you at Treffi!
